Paul C. LaMarre III
Manager of Maritime Affairs

Paul C. LaMarre III is the Manager of Maritime Affairs. His responsibilities include direct operational support of the president as well as all managerial aspects of “Toledo’s Flagship,” the S.S. Willis B. Boyer.

Mr. LaMarre joined the Port Authority staff June 1, 2007 following his employment by the City of Toledo as operator of the S.S. Willis B. Boyer. Prior to that, he served as a deck officer on multiple Great Lakes towing vessels.

A graduate of the California Maritime Academy, Mr. LaMarre holds a bachelor of science degree in Marine Transportation with minors in logistics and naval science, as well as his USCG License 3rd Mates License for unlimited tonnage vessels. He has also served as pilot in the United States Navy, having logged the majority of his flight hours in the F/A-18 Hornet, and remains a Lieutenant in the naval reserve.

Mr. LaMarre is an active member of the International Shipmasters’ Association, a board member of the Marine Historical Society of Detroit, as well as a member of the Great Lakes Historical Society, Steamship Historical Society of America, and Tailhook Association. He and his wife Rebecca reside in Milan, Michigan.
