TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - The City of Toledo and the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority unveiled a new 5-acre solar field located on the grounds of the Collins Park water treatment plant.
The $5.2 million project will generate approximately 1 megawatt of power for a facility which normally requires 5 megawatts to operate.
Port President Paul Toth said more solar field projects are in the works.
"We're working on actually four other solar projects in the Toledo area, hopefully we'll be able to announce those soon," Toth said.
