The City of Toledo, the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority, IPS Energy Ventures and multiple private partners will unveil a new solar field at the Collins Park Water Treatment Plant at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2011.

The project, which began construction in 2010, is the culmination of $5.2 million in public/private partnership investment to bring clean, alternative energy to city facilities while reducing energy consumption costs for the plant.

Collins Park Water Treatment Plant is a secure facility. Guests arriving for this event may be asked to provide identification in order to enter the grounds. Closed-toe, flat-sole shoes are recommended, as many parts of the complex contain dirt and stone surfaces.
