Port Authority Unveils Jeep Parkway Property Redevelopment Master Plan

Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority President and CEO, Paul Toth was joined today by state and local officials to unveil the master redevelopment concepts for the recently acquired Jeep Parkway Property. The Port Authority purchased the former industrial site last fall with the sole purpose of remediating the valuable parcel of property and returning it to the stream of commerce – thus creating jobs and economic development for the region.

Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority and state and local officials will unveil the master plan concepts for the recently acquired Jeep Parkway Property at an event on Thurs., July 7 at 2 p.m. on the Jeep Parkway property. Port officials will also speak about the remediation and redevelopment efforts and provide details on how the recently received Clean Ohio Revitalization Fund (CORF) grants will be used to help complete the site remediation.

Port Authority Officially Acquires Historic Jeep Parkway Property
TOLEDO, Ohio, Oct. 8, 2010  – The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority officially acquired the historic Jeep Parkway property on Fri., Oct. 3, 2010 for a purchase price of $95,000.  The 111 acre site located at 1000 Jeep Parkway will undergo an environmental remediation process over the next 18 to 24 months and redeveloped thereafter.

Jeep Parkway - 80 Acres 

This 80-acre site is ideally located by two major interstate highways and two active rail lines. The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority purchased the property in 2010 with the sole purpose of returning the valuable asset to the stream of commerce in the form of an innovative business park that will be an example of sustainable industrial redevelopment.

  • More than 300,000 vehicles pass location daily
  • All major public utilities are in place including electric, natural gas, communications, water, storm and sanitary sewers.
  • Adjacent to Interstate 75
  • Nearby intersection of Interstate 475 (approximately one-quarter mile southwest of the property)
  • Nearby Interstate 280 (approximately two miles east of the property)
  • Direct access to Norfolk Southern and Canadian National rail lines
  • Adjacent to the recently renovated Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) public transportation hub - located immediately south of the site
  • From 1888 to 2006 the property was home to Toledo's century-old automobile manufacturing hub, Toledo Jeep.
